Art in the Pen is a well established and highly regarded art and craft fair that runs each year in Thirsk and Skipton Auction Marts. From humble beginnings, the event has developed into what many now consider to be the North’s leading art event. Back in 2005, Art in the Pen started out as a relatively small number of artists transforming cattle pens into galleries to sell their original work. The organic and informal nature of the event really captured the attention of visitors, who now return each year in increasing numbers. Today, Art in the Pen has flourished into a sprawling event, with an abundance of creativity and craftsmanship at every turn. The continued success of Art in the Pen is partly down to its relaxed and friendly environment. The events are a great way for visitors to strike up conversations with our artists and meet other art and craft enthusiasts. Whether you’re a collector or buying for the first time, Art in the Pen provides a wonderful opportunity to discover new, emerging and established talent. Thirsk Auction Mart is a working cattle mart. Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome. Toilets are located within the building. The on site cafe provides hot and cold meals and drinks.  The venue has several large car parks around the perimeter. If you require wheelchair access, please park in the front car park. There are uneven concrete floors in the exhibition area.

The White Rose Artists are a group of artists living and working in Yorkshire. Their art takes on many genres, including oils, acrylics, watercolours, pencil, pastels, collage and digital art, from landscapes to evocative abstracts, animals and flowers and traditional and contemporary pieces. Every summer they come together for a series of "Art in the Gardens" exhibitions along The Colonnade in The Valley Gardens, in the beautiful historic spa town of Harrogate, North Yorkshire. Exhibitions have been running for over 40 years and have always been popular with locals and visitors alike. It's an opportunity to meet the artists and take in the beauty of the gardens. A free shuttle service is available. Disabled visitors should park in the front car park.
